In December 2006, Red Rival won Triple J Unearthed. They played the dusk slots at the Falls Festival and were the only Tasmanian rock band invited to play the inaugural Southern Roots Festival alongside Gomez, Wolfmother and the Pixies.

Most of 2009 has had Red Rival locked down in the studio recording their full-length debut album. With an emphasis on writing powerful melodic and at times “anthemic” rock songs, they’re often described as “rambunctious” yet focused. The highLows boast an edgy, no nonsense sound which has the ability to hook the listener in very quickly.

Rising out of the ashes of former Hobart band Sir Veto, the highLows band members bring together an enviable pedigree, having supported the likes of The Tea Party, Cold Chisel, Grinspoon and Silverchair. As well as being former JJJ unearthed winners.

Their first album “No Space, No Time” was released in late 2008 with the band culling an extensive back catalogue of songs down to a final 14. They are slowly building a reputation as a powerful live act with the ability to deliver tight performances with high energy, while never losing sight of giving the audience what they came for!

There is a groundswell of fascination around Enola Fall, a growing rumble of excitement and energy that is spreading outwards from the group’s native Tasmania.

People really, really like it when Joe sings. There are bits when he sounds like he’s crawling into your ear and whispering images and feelings straight into the centre of your brain. Then everything explodes and Enola Fall come slamming in like hell’s own harp; Joe starts screaming those high bits and the top of your head feels like it’s going to come off.

But of course that’s not really the point... The point is that Joe is a hell of singer, and Enola Fall are a hell of a band.

Their new album Glorious Five Year Plan is also one hell of record. Aloof, crystalline indie pop scarred with cabaret piano, horns and churning guitars.
